Butterfly Class (Nursery and Reception)

Butterfly Class is a warm, nurturing environment where Nursery and Reception children begin their learning journey. The class is taught by Mrs Harrison and Mrs Chapman, supported by Mrs Tyrer, Miss Boocock, Mrs Scott and Mrs Mather who work together to provide a caring and engaging start to school life.

In Butterfly Class, learning is fun, practical and based around play. Children explore a wide range of activities both indoors and in our well-resourced outdoor area, helping them to develop confidence, independence and curiosity. We place a strong emphasis on early communication, phonics, number skills and positive relationships, ensuring every child feels safe, valued and ready to learn.

Our approach supports children to explore, investigate and follow their interests, while developing important skills for the future. We also celebrate the ways children learn best—through exploring, concentrating and planning—helping them to become confident and capable learners.
